El Retorno
Set in the Dominican Republic, this immersive experience invites participants to engage with the island not as tourists, but as people tracing what was carried and preserved across generations. Through writing, conversation, history, and cultural immersion, El Retorno becomes a space to return to the stories that were always ours, even when they were left untold.
La Experiencia

Guided storytelling sessions designed to help participants explore memory, migration, family history, identity, and belonging through personal narrative and creative writing.
Writing Workshops

Intimate discussions on Blackness in Dominican identity, diaspora, colonial legacy, cultural inheritance, and historical memory.
Curated Conversations

Cultural Immersion
Experiences grounded in local culture, history, music, and food — engaging with Dominican culture personally, and not as an outsider.

Community & Reflection
Space to slow down, connect, process, and create among fellow writers, artists, thinkers, and members of the diaspora.
Returning Beyond Borders
El Retorno creates space to explore Dominican identity, including that which el extranjero sometimes erases. Participants are invited to sit with their stories and culture while engaging in creative practice alongside the community.
This retreat is not about escape.
It is about remembrance.
A return to self.
A return to the island.
A return to the stories waiting beneath silence.
